Especially when some misperceptions could be easily cleared up, e.g., that the concerns over the eventually removed slavery clause were not simply from the representatives of the Carolinas and Georgia. "1776" could easily have had some comments come from others who were not as adamant but had vested interest in slavery at some level. The play/movie did aim at Boston shipping but mainly so Rutledge could be seen to oppose Adams.
