My point was that even in simple interactions lack of sincerity in apologies exists, so it does not surprise me when, in more serious situations, the unwillingness exists. While, as a white person, I do not encounter such intentional issues; however, when I have been around my non-white son and people aren’t expecting us to be related, I have seen and had to react to his treatment.
