Regarding "The Celebrity Pastor," though you refer to somewhat recent and evangelical celebrity, perhaps we could say Billy Graham may have been the first such person to reach "celebrity" status through TV? I would, however, want to mention s person who preceded him as a religious "celebrity" through appearance on TV: Bishop Fulton J. Sheen. My mother and I would watch him regularly, though we were not Catholic, as he had an appealing personality. As Wikipedia notes, "Sheen twice won an Emmy Award for Most Outstanding Television Personality."
